Nearly 70 years ago, Jack's Surfboards was born from a father's love and a surfer's need. In 1957, Jack Hokanson noticed his sons returning from surfing sessions at the Huntington Beach Pier, shivering in the cold Pacific waters. That simple observation sparked an idea that would change surf retail forever.

Jack opened one of California's first comprehensive surf shops at the corner of Main Street and Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach - not just selling surfboards, but wetsuits and all the gear surfers needed. That location, now known as the "Times Square of Surfing," remains our flagship store today.
