Originally built around Anthony Van Engelen’s uncompromising approach to skateboarding, the AVE Classic returns with modern skate tech, premium materials, and Hockey’s unmistakably raw point of view.
Stripped down and rebuilt for performance, the Vans AVE Classic by Hockey features Vans’ most trusted skate technologies, engineered to handle impact, abrasion, and all-day sessions. DURACAP™ underlays reinforce high-wear areas for added durability, while POPCUSH™ insoles deliver maximum cushioning without sacrificing boardfeel. Underfoot, SickStick™ rubber and the iconic waffle sole combine for next-level grip and control.
Design details nod to the shoe’s original lineage while pushing it forward. A full-leather upper, custom co-branded footbed, and Hockey-specific artwork bring a refined edge to a silhouette that never lost its bite. To create this campaign, Vans enlisted the creative mastermind behind Hockey, Benny Maglinao. Rooted in shared history and shared riders, the collaboration is anchored by Anthony Van Engelen’s enduring influence. The connection runs deeper through Vans team riders Andrew Allen and Diego Todd, featured alongside Ben Kadow—whose presence across both brands underscores the natural alignment between Vans and Hockey.
