The Gudauskas Brothers will be here at our HB shop next Thursday, July 18 to premiere their new short surf film “FEVER VOYAGE,” as well as hanging around to answer your Surfboard Design questions during their discussion panel with Channel Islands shaper Mike Andrews. A surfing contest mostly in the air returns deep-fried in the heart of Texas lies the world’s premier Airwave at BSR Cable Park. Pleased to announce that we're taking another dip in the pool for our second annual Stab High Surfing Contest. A quick recap: In 2018, we enlisted 16 of the world’s best aerial surfers. We invited them to Waco, Texas, stuck them on a man-made wave and politely asked they spread their wings. What we found that, without the slightest whiff of hyperbole, the air section at BSR is the best in the world. our competitors thrived in the pool, most never having stepped foot in Waco, Texas. Boy did they fly! We’re doing it all over again on Saturday, June 29th. Quiksilver will be screening their new "Echo Beach" movie at our Newport Beach location! Event starts at 7PM in front of our Newport Beach shop. Come talk story, and grab FREE Tacos & FREE Quiksilver swag! In the 1980's Newport Beach spawned a new era of high performance surfing and entrepreneurship, establishing Orange County as the focal point of the surf industry and a worldwide influencer of youth culture. This group of surfers came from different backgrounds and interests, bonded in their surfing and exploded on the scene, creating a unique look and revolutionary style that paralleled changes in music, culture and the innovation of young surf companies such as Quiksilver, Stussy, Schroff, Rip Curl, McCoy and Wave Tools. Flashy wetsuits, colorful surfboards, and a new wave attitude created a surfing Mecca that was to impact the surfing community around the world and give rise to a global industry. Photographers, surfers, surfboard shapers, magazines and clothing companies all came together to create this movement, which was focused on a one hundred yard stretch of sand known as ECHO BEACH. Beach Cleanup - Hermosa Beach
Join us for a Beach Cleanup! Saturday May 18th, 10AM -12PM Meet at Jack's Surfboards - 1630 Pacific Coast HWY, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254 It's not OK to remain unaware! 8 million tons of plastic enters our ocean each year and most of it starts out on land as litter. Join the Outerknown, Jack's Surf Shop, Surfline, and Hermosa Beach community for an #ITSNOTOK beach cleanup. Meet at Jack's Surfboards at 10am and we'll head over to clean the beach on the Northside of Hermosa Pier. Join us afterward for a post-cleanup BBQ from 12-1:30pm - we'll have snacks, raffled gear, Sambazon açaís bowls, and an OK shop discount for participants. Let's clean up our coastline and protect our ocean!
